Such gracious hospitality!
Such delicious food!
Such convivial company!
Such a fresh BREATH of the Holy Spirit!
1. Next meeting will be Wednesday, July 30, 6:30 p.m., in the St. Stephen's library.
2. At that meeting, we will map out details for fall Sunday p.m. contemplative services, and plan publicity.
3. Between now and then:
a. Kathleen will verify that the H. Meharg directed Compline will continue on 4th Sundays
b. Summer & Mary will make plans for Women's Taize'
c. Jan, Buddy & Noreen will meet either July 12 or 26 to plan visual arts (PowerPoint) service
d. Kathleen will investigate labyrinth options.
4. Everyone was brought up to speed on the developments for Wednesday evening Faith Formation ("Stephen's Table" --- great name, imho), as well as Jonah Lyons Cadigan (now all of 4 days old!), and we were going to talk about the survey, but I don't think we did!!
5. Again, In My Humble Opinion, I think Michael should just post the survey, then we can start publicizing it, and see what happens! (revise later, as needed)
6. We also agreed to take as many "field trips" as possible to places with interesting music, or other hints of "emergence" -- St. Columba's, Kent; St. Thomas, Medina, St. Benedict's, Lacey and a contingent made plans to carpool to Trinity Cathedral, Portland, departing from St. Stephen's at 6 p.m. next Sunday.
7. My attempt @ a PowerPoint Compline was pretty much a fiasco, but I felt better about the possibilities for using parts of my "Sophia" powerpoint, with (e.g.) one night each for Hildegaard of Bingen, Julian of Norwich, and St. Brigid (?).
Well, this is your unofficial scribe, signing off,
Jan E.V.W. Hanson
Next Meeting
Wednesday July 30th
7:00 St. Stephen's Parish Hall
Over the break we will be working in small groups to plan the half hour sunday evening services for the Fall. We will reconvene in July to check on the progress of this and to share our experiences with field trips to experience other alternative services.
We welcome everyone who is curious about the new service or interested in being involved in the planning of it to join us for our weekly discussions.

Summer's notes say 7pm on the 30th. Just wanted to clarify this since you posted 6:30.
In regards to the survey being posted on the blog, it will require some looking into. Also, I think the "Planning A New Service" book said to get worthwhile results from any survey you need over 500 responses. So, this may take a bit more thought...
I would guess that realiable statistics are pretty difficult to collect, but perhaps we can get some meaningful feedback? I wonder if instead of a cold survey, we fleshed out some ideas, and then did phone interviews? A more personal, interactive approach around some open-ended questions?
