Exploring our faith together in new ways

I know that for me, just the process of meeting every Sunday evening to discuss what this third service might look like has caused a great development in my faith.  I have been given the opportunity to find words to describe things that are important to me that I didn't know I had.  And I have had the pleasure of listening to others share what is important to them about worship and community.

This is what I find so exciting about the 3rd service.  We're not just creating an environment for worship at St. Stephen's that younger people will find comfortable.  We are opening up new doors and creating a welcoming space for anyone who wishes to explore their faith in a new way.  We are expanding the vocabulary of our faith community.

Through out the several discussions we've had, the topic of community keeps reemerging.  We want to welcome new people into our community without alienating those who are already here.  We may be trying something new, but that doesn't mean we don't want to include those currently in the congregation who would like to join us.

It is my hope that as this process of planning and discussion continues we will all be able to continue to enrich our faith and build the foundations for a broader community of worship.
